We used QGears2 with its X Render back-end to look closer at the 2D performance of the RV790. However, as this benchmark is not very demanding, there is not much to see, as the performance is the same across the RV770 and RV790 graphics processors.
When sticking with the gears test and QGears2 but switching over to the OpenGL back-end, there was a slight boost with the Radeon HD 4890, but again there is not much weight in this test.
