The Catalyst Linux driver had a similar power consumption rate to the Radeon Linux driver in its default configuration.
While the CPU usage was much lower for the Catalyst driver than the open-source Radeon driver when running OpenArena, here it is flipped around where the CPU usage is noticeably higher on Catalyst.
