OpenArena 0.8.5 was almost 15% faster when simply setting the environment variable to enable HyperZ, but still that wasn't close to being enough to make up the performance difference against Catalyst.
The newer OpenArena release was over 10% faster with having HyperZ.
Again, more performance was to be found with HyperZ but still not enough to make up for the open vs. closed source driver performance.
