The Doom 3 performance was minimally impacted by the enabling of color tiling for the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver with Mesa 10.0.
The OpenArena 0.8.5 performance went up by 46% with the simple enabling of the color tiling option for the xf86-video-ati DDX, but the binary Catalyst driver was still 53% faster.
The performance gains out of the OpenArena 0.8.8 release were similar with the color tiling support, but the Catalyst proprietary driver will continue to reign supreme for the near future.
