RADV vs. AMDVLK Radeon Vulkan Ray-Tracing Performance For Mid-2024

With the new GPUScore: Breaking Limit benchmark, it was a similar story to GravityMark... Running the Vulkan benchmark without ray-tracing showed the Mesa RADV driver leading but when it came to ray-tracing the AMDVLK driver continues to consistently outpace the RADV driver.

So simply put, for those wondering the AMDVLK driver is still leading over the Mesa RADV driver when it comes to Vulkan ray-tracing... But as we widely see in non-ray-tracing tests not only in this article but in a multitude of testing over time, the Mesa RADV driver is great for non-RT Linux gaming. Hopefully Mesa's RADV driver will continue seeing more ray-tracing optimizations but this is where things currently stand with Linux 6.10 + Mesa 24.2-devel.
