Fedora vs. Ubuntu vs. openSUSE vs. Clear Linux For Intel Steam Gaming Performance
When moving up to 1080p, Clear Linux remained the fastest for both the OpenGL and Vulkan runs. But before getting too excited, the HD Graphics in this configuration weren't delivering playable frame-rates.
Lastly is Team Fortress 2 where with any of the Linux distributions was running about 60 FPS. Clear Linux came in a very slight first place finish.
The results varied, but overall Clear Linux did live up to its performance expectations with delivering the fastest Intel Linux performance possible. However, given the results and even when using the latest-generation Intel graphics, it's still not fast enough to justify building a "Steam Box" or HTPC Linux gaming PC with HD Graphics. It could be more interesting though when Kabylake Iris Graphics become available or if Clear Linux ends up supporting the Radeon/Nouveau open-source graphics drivers.
