Intel Graphics Performance: Clear Linux vs. Xubuntu 16.04 LTS vs. Fedora 23 Xfce
With the synthetic GpuTest results, it still was a case of Fedora 23 Xfce and Clear Linux 7820 both outperforming Xubuntu 16.04 LTS by a noticeable margin, even when using the Linux 4.6 kernel and Mesa 11.3-devel. Clear Linux and Fedora enabling DRI3 may explain some of the difference for a subset of these OpenGL benchmarks, but likely not all. For verification, later today I'll post some follow-up tests in a one-page article when manually enabling DRI3 for Intel graphics on Xubuntu 16.04.
Between Clear Linux and Fedora 23 Xfce, it was a virtual dead heat between these modern Linux distributions on the Haswell ultrabook with Intel Iris Graphics.
