For the scientific workloads presented by the demanding Rodinia benchmarks, having 12GB of memory yielded significant advantages over the 3GB kit. I'd also put much more faith in Corsair memory than CSX.

NASA's NPB benchmarks are also very strenuous and can make use of lots of system memory.
