Aside from some minor differences in the CPU-bound tests where the newer GCC 4.8 compiler was of benefit to the test binaries, the performance between these different states of Debian and Ubuntu were very close. Overall these results today aren't too interesting or much of a surprise (especially given that Ubuntu is Debian-based) but stay tuned for our other OpenGL/gaming focused tests that are sure to raise some eyebrows along with several other interesting Linux hardware tests we have come up later this month.
