Intel's Linux Performance Optimizations Continue Paying Off For AMD EPYC

Kicking things off with the OpenJDK Java performance, in some test cases the newer OpenJDK slightly regressed the performance on both Ubuntu and Clear Linux. But Clear Linux was still performing better than Ubuntu 24.10 for the Jython performance, for example, on this dual socket AMD EPYC server.
With other Java workloads the latest Linux software stack both on Ubuntu 24.10 and Clear Linux were faster than at the end of 2022... With the Intel-optimized Linux distribution still showing strong performance even for competing AMD servers.
The Zstd compression binary shipped by each respective operating system was still significantly faster on Clear Linux than Ubuntu.
