Ubuntu 12.10 has performance advantages over Ubuntu 12.04 for the Texas Instruments ARM platform largely due to the upgraded kernel and move to the more-optimized GCC 4.7.
For some workloads, however, Ubuntu 12.10 is regressing compared to Ubuntu 12.04.
