In some of the Zstd benchmarks, GCC 12 was having a slight edge over the prior compilers.

Botan with some of the crypto algorithms appear to suffer from a performance regression since GCC 11.

GraphicsMagick meanwhile was performing slightly better on the newer compiler releases.

For the video encoders and other software relying on hand-tuned Assembly, the GCC compilers tend to make only slight differences in performance.
