Intel Arc Graphics Enjoy Nice ~10% Speedup With Recent Open-Source Linux Driver

👁 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1920 x 1080, Renderer: Vulkan. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

Similar to Intel engineers having reported a ~11% performance gain with their recent change, in my A770 run with CS:GO at 1080p the boost was around 10% faster by simply moving to the newer Mesa code.

👁 Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1920 x 1080, Graphics Setting: High. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

👁 Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2560 x 1440, Graphics Setting: High. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

👁 Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1920 x 1080, Graphics Setting: Medium. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

With the Cyberpunk 2077 game running on Linux via Steam Play, there was only a slight boost to the performance from the newer Mesa code. At least though it was consistent,

👁 DDraceNetwork benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2560 x 1440, Mode: Fullscreen, Renderer: OpenGL 3.3, Zoom: Default, Demo: RaiNyMore2. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

Meanwhile with the DDraceNetwork open-source platformer game there was around a 10% boost to the frame-rate by upgrading Mesa for the Intel Arc Graphics.

👁 ET: Legacy benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1920 x 1080. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

👁 ET: Legacy benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2560 x 1440. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

The ET: Legacy game also showed very healthy improvements to performance with this newer Mesa code for the Intel Arc Graphics A770...

👁 Left 4 Dead 2 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1920 x 1080, Renderer: OpenGL. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

👁 Left 4 Dead 2 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1920 x 1080, Renderer: Vulkan. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

👁 Left 4 Dead 2 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2560 x 1440, Renderer: Vulkan. Mesa 23-07-16 was the fastest.

Left 4 Dead 2 both with the OpenGL and Vulkan paths were enjoying significantly better performance with the new Mesa driver code.
