Right off the bat when firing off some HPC benchmarks, Clear Linux immediately jumped to the front of the race... Even when switching over to the Intel P-State powersave governor rather than performance, it continued showing these modern Linux distributions that they are still leaving performance on the table.

With various operations using the FFmpeg multimedia library, Clear Linux was delivering the best performance on this Core i9 14900K due to its combination of default compiler flags and other tuning throughout the Linux distribution.

When looking at the performance of the Zstd binaries shipped by each Linux distribution, Fedora Workstation 40 did have some leads in a few of these Zstandard compression benchmarks.
