Cache Aware Scheduling Raises Performance For Intel Xeon 6 Granite Rapids
There was occasionally a performance regression but for the most part was a win for performance.
Overall this initial testing of Cache Aware Scheduling on Intel Xeon 6P "Granite Rapids" was working out quite well. Similar to the Cache Aware Scheduling tests on 5th Gen AMD EPYC "Turin", for Granite Rapids there were also some decent performance advantages spotted from this proposed Linux kernel code.
Cache Aware Scheduling wasn't submitted for the current Linux 6.19 kernel cycle but here's to hoping that it will cross the finish line in 2026 for benefiting modern Linux systems with multiple cache domains.
