The generational uplift from Sapphire Rapids to Emerald Rapids exceeded expectations but the AMD EPYC line-up with Genoa-X for 3D V-Cache processors and up to 96 cores for Genoa or 128 cores with Bergamo proved more advantageous in a number of the benchmarks.
The Xeon Platinum 8592+ 2P did deliver the best performance of the tested processors for the Xcompact3D/Incompact3D software.
For Altair's OpenRadioss the Xeon Platinum 8592+ performance was matching the EPYC 9554 2P performance and even the EPYC 9654 in the 1P race.
The Xeon Platinum 8592+ had a strong first place finish with the LULESH hydrodynamics software but trailed EPYC Siena processors for the best performance-per-Watt.
