Intel KMS vs. UMS With Ubuntu 10.04
These results are not exciting like with the Radeon UMS vs. KMS benchmarks, but it is refreshing to see that the kernel mode-setting support does not lead to degraded performance as it does with the current ATI Radeon hardware on the open-source Linux stack. This is particularly good since with the latest mainline releases there is no user-space mode-setting support. At the same time though there isn't any performance optimizations yet with the KMS paths, at least as it concerns the OpenGL performance, but 2D UXA and X-Video may be a different story and we'll leave that for another article.
