For those after the latest and greatest processors, there are plenty of other articles on Phoronix looking at the current Linux state of Haswell as well as the Ivy Bridge Extreme Edition.
If these results don't mean much to you in their own right, you should just fire up the Phoronix Test Suite and run a side-by-side comparison to better understand how your system competes against these four older but still modern Intel CPUs.
