Lenovo ThinkPad W510 Notebook
Since July we have been testing a Lenovo ThinkPad W510 notebook under Linux and have already published a variety of Linux benchmarks. This Lenovo notebook boasts an Intel Core i7 720QM CPU, 4GB of system memory, a 320GB SATA HDD, and NVIDIA Quadro FX880M graphics. In this review we are taking a closer look at the ThinkPad W510 notebook and have more Ubuntu Linux benchmarks comparing its performance to the ZaReason Verix and an older ThinkPad T61.

The Lenovo ThinkPad W510 is designed and built just like previous Lenovo notebooks that we have tested with only a few tweaks in its design. From the keyboard to the screen itself all feel quite solid. The complete run-down of the notebook we purchased from Lenovo had an Intel Core i7 720QM (6MB cache, 1.6GHz) CPU, Windows 7 Professional x64, 15.6-inch FHD display with LED backlight, NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M graphics, 4GB of PC3-8500 DDR3 system memory, a 320GB Hitachi 7200RPM HDD, a multi-recorder optical drive, a nine-cell Lithium-Ion battery, and Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 wireless. The W510 can also be configured with an Intel Core i5 CPU, varying amounts of RAM, up to a 500GB HDD or a 128GB solid-state drive, WiMax 6250 support, and various other optional components.
