So there are some cases particularly synthetic micro-benchmarks where there was a measurable difference in performance of building Linux 5.5 with GCC 9 or Clang 9, but for most of the real-world workloads the results were comparable.
If taking the geometric mean of the dozens of tests carried out, it averages out to basically being a tie.
