Btrfs Performance From Linux 6.12 To Linux 7.0 Shows Regressions
The ClickHouse database benchmark wasn't held up by any of the file-systems tested.
The Cockroach database performance was a bit more volatile but there at least the Btrfs numbers were close to EXT4 and XFS most often.
Running the TigerBeetle database on Btrfs revealed a new surprise: a significant performance regression with Linux 6.15 that has remained in place ever since. Btrfs prior to Linux 6.15 was close to EXT4 and XFS but experienced a huge drop off with that kernel release last year.
Across all TigerBeetle client counts tested, Btrfs experienced the same behavior of a large regression since Linux 6.15.
