Bcachefs was in last place out-of-the-box for FIO sequential reads of the file-systems tested at their defaults. XFS and F2FS were delivering the best performance here.

Under sequential write conditions, XFS out-of-the-box maintained a big lead over the other file-systems while Bcachefs was in last. Btrfs was holding a nice middle-ground of the tested Linux file-systems.

👁 FS-Mark benchmark with settings of Test: 1000 Files, 1MB Size. XFS was the fastest.

With FS_Mark, XFS led followed by EXT4 and then Btrfs, F2FS, and Bcachefs in a distant last place.

👁 Dbench benchmark with settings of Client Count: 12. Btrfs was the fastest.

Under Dbench, Btrfs picked up a strong first place finish.
