For many tested workloads the Linux 6.9-rc2 performance on the dual socket Intel Xeon Max 9480 server was flat or in a few cases slightly lower than Linux 6.8.

👁 OSPRay benchmark with settings of Benchmark: gravity_spheres_volume/dim_512/ao/real_time. Linux 6.8 was the fastest.

Including for some of Intel's own oneAPI software packages the Linux 6.9-rc2 was slightly lower than Linux 6.8, unlike the AMD EPYC 9684X results that were trending slightly higher or better on Linux 6.9.
