Intel Arc Pro B70 Showing Off Some Performance Wins With Linux 7.1
With the OpenCL-accelerated FluidX3D, the performance on the Arc Pro B70 wasn't impacted by Linux 7.1.
In other OpenCL workloads there was small to no difference on Linux 7.1.
For graphics workloads on the Intel Arc Pro B70, there were some performance gains to find out of Linux 7.1 similar to what I observed and previously showcased with the Arc B580. For Vulkan ray-tracing with GravityMark and other demanding graphics tests, there were some performance improvements to note with Linux 7.1.
For SPECViewPerf 2020 with OpenGL there wasn't any observable performance benefits on Linux 7.1.
Overall, Linux 7.1 is looking to deliver some incremental performance enhancements for at least Intel Battlemage graphics. I am currently looking more broadly at Intel Panther Lake CPU and iGPU performance on Linux 7.1 and other new kernel benchmarks to come on Phoronix.
