The I/O random read performance did pan out better for the Clang-built kernel and with full LTO too. For LevelDB and FIO the random read performance did benefit from those optimized kernel builds.
The write performance was also coming out better on the Clang + LTO kernel build of Linux 6.19 on this AMD Ryzen Threadripper Zen 5 workstation.
👁 Sockperf benchmark with settings of Test: Throughput. Clang 21 Built Kernel + LTO was the fastest.
Sockperf was also showing benefits to the Clang + Full LTO kernel build for network socket performance.
