It's also important to remember that the Core i9 12900K was running with DDR5 system memory, which will also be supported with the upcoming AMD Zen 4 processors.

With DDR5 system memory and also the latest upstream Linux kernel optimizations, the Core i9 12900K was running very well against the Ryzen 9 5950X in various HPC workloads.

But for other HPC workloads like LAMMPS, the 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X leads on Linux 6.0.

For deep learning benchmarks, the performance tended to be close but there were exceptions like the Intel Alder Lake CPU performing better for ONNX.
