In using all of the same settings and same user-space Mesa/DDX components between this quick 3.16 vs. 3.17 Git comparison, the Nexuiz performance was faster by 9% with the newer kernel.
OpenArena was 4% for the R9 270X GCN graphics card with the Linux 3.17 kernel.
Unigine Tropics was about 5% faster with the still-experimental kernel.
Xonotic is also faster.
