Intel Graphics Hit High Point With Linux 3.6 Kernel
Warsow is slightly faster under this Linux kernel that will be released in the coming weeks.
The Xonotic performance was also rising higher with the Linux 3.6 kernel on the Core i7 "Ivy Bridge" system.
Overall these performance improvements for open-source Intel graphics with the Linux 3.6 kernel is quite promising with multiple OpenGL workloads going up by about ~28% for this Core i7 hardware. Further testing of the Linux 3.6 kernel from multiple generations of Intel hardware is currently being conducted and will be published in future Phoronix articles. A comparison of the latest Intel Linux graphics to Microsoft Windows 7/8 is also due.
