LLVM Clang 22 Compiler Performance Largely Unchanged Over Clang 21 On AMD Zen 5
On this AMD EPYC 9655P server and other modern AMD Ryzen/EPYC hardware in the lab, the Clang 22 performance is largely the same as Clang 21 without any big Znver5 improvements or the like and given the maturity of the x86_64 support.
Occasionally there is an ever slight improvement to the performance with this new LLVM Clang 22 release, but it was rather rare and in some cases not statistically significant.
At the same time it is rather refreshing how mature and reliable LLVM/Clang on x86_64 has become over the years compared to those that had tried using it a decade or more ago.
