Legacy Radeon Performance On Mesa 9.1 Gallium3D
There isn't much to see out of the Xonotic results in this Mesa R300g comparison on the Radeon X1800XT.
The results coming in the next few days that compare Ubuntu Linux releases from this same hardware setup are more interesting with also comparing the Radeon DRM kernel changes, the desktop, and other components. These results go back to the days where the Catalyst driver supported the Radeon X1000 graphics on Ubuntu.
Mesa 9.1 is expected to be released as stable by the end of February.
