Open-Source Nouveau Linux 4.10 + NvBoost vs. NVIDIA Proprietary Linux Driver Performance

First up with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive we see how much better the older Kepler cards do relative to the NVIDIA Linux driver thanks to the re-clocking and boost support not currently available for Maxwell. With these older cards, the GTX 680 on the open-source driver is at 66% the speed of the binary blob, the GTX 760 is at 68%, and the GTX 780 Ti is at 65%. But with the newer Maxwell hardware, the GTX 980 is unplayable and at just 6% the speed of the binary driver due to not being able to re-clock from its boot frequencies.

And it's very much a similar story for Dota 2... Though here the relative performance isn't quite as good with the GTX 780 Ti running at 41% the speed of the official NVIDIA Linux driver.

With the lighter ET: Legacy game, the Nouveau performance with Kepler GPUs is closer to 90% while the newer Maxwell cards are basically unplayable.
