The CPU Performance Of The NVIDIA GB10 With The Dell Pro Max vs. AMD Ryzen AI Max+ "Strix Halo"

For the popular 7-Zip multi-threaded benchmark, Strix Halo led for raw performance but GB10 delivered superior power efficiency.

For Zstd compression, both the AMD and NVIDIA systems were showing healthy competition for performance and power efficiency.

For some basic single-threaded workloads with audio encoding, FLAC encoding was faster on the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 while LAME MP3 encoding was faster on the GB10. WavPack audio encoding showed a massive advantage on the x86_64 CPUs.

The Python scripting performance was quite competitive between the NVIDIA GB10 and AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395. Depending upon the particular Python benchmark it was a toss-up for which SoC delivered better Python scripting performance.

Interestingly though for the Python benchmarks the Framework Desktop was consuming less power than the Dell Pro Max GB10.
