ARM Linux Server Performance Up More Than 7x Geo Mean In 8 Years, As Much As 15x With NVIDIA Vera CPU
Right from the start we see the immediate shock of how far ARM cores have evolved over the past eight years from Ampere's Skylark cores with eMAG to now the NVIDIA Olympus cores in Vera. For OpenJDK Java benchmarks there was more than a 6x improvement!
It's also worth pointing out many of these Java benchmarks are single-threaded or lightly-threaded. If fully leveraging the NVIDIA Vera CPU core with its 88 cores / 176 threads is much more potential as shown in some of the multi-threaded benchmarks latter.
