NVIDIA's 337.25 proprietary driver swept the board when it came to the QGears2 benchmarks with the X RENDER back-end. Besides the proprietary NVIDIA driver being much better staffed than the community-based Nouveau driver, contributing to the tougher time for the Nouveau driver is the open-source driver being stuck to running at a lower frequency due to its current lack of re-clocking.
