With Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at 4K the GTX 970 was delivering 140 FPS -- the GTX 980 was about 9% faster while the GTX 970 was 25% faster than its closest AMD competition, the Radeon R9 290.

With the open-source Tesseract game, the GTX 970 was 31% faster than the GTX 970 and just being about 7% slower than the GTX 980 while costing $200 less.

The Unigine Valley results also showed the GeForce GTX 970 in very good light compared to the tested Radeon hardware and only being a small fraction slower than the GTX 980 on Ubuntu Linux.
