OS X El Capitan vs. Fedora vs. Ubuntu vs. Antergos Benchmarks
As the comments explained in the earlier Fedora vs. OS X comparison, El Capitan was the fastest for this test solely because for Postgre SQL it wasn't honoring fsync requests. So OS X was faster, but the data not save. Between the three Linux distributions, the results were close.
The three Linux distributions also performed about the same for this Apple MacBook Air when running OpenSSL, which was multiple times faster than OS X 10.11.1
There wasn't a huge difference with the Stockfish benchmark results.
For Primesieve and other OpenMP workloads, GCC is much faster due to supporting this parallel programming API unless you're on the latest version of Clang with OpenMP support enabled.
