First up was the game Batman: Arkham Knight running on Linux via Steam Play (Proton). At 1080p with high quality settings the game is easily playable even going back to the GTX 1060 while with the RX 6600 XT allows for much higher frame-rates -- just shy of 200 FPS if using a high refresh rate display. The RX 6600 XT performance was coming in right between the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti. The RX 6600 XT was 20% faster here over the prior generation RX 5600 XT and 71% faster than the popular Radeon RX 590 Polaris graphics card.

On a performance-per-Watt basis, the RDNA2 graphics cards come out ahead of the NVIDIA Ampere graphics cards with ease.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT could handle running Batman: Arkham Knight with a 120 FPS average under Linux.

Another Steam Play game tested on Linux was DiRT Rally 2.0. with DiRT Rally 2.0, the RX 6600 XT managed to even tie with the GeForce RTX 3070 on Linux. In this configuration the RX 6600 XT was 2.7x the speed of the GeForce GTX 1060 and 1.8x the speed of the Radeon RX 590.

On a performance-per-Watt basis, the Radeon RX 6600 XT is looking fantastic against the competition.

Even when pushing DiRT Rally 2.0 on Steam Play to 1440p with ultra quality settings, the Radeon RX 6600 XT on the open-source driver stack still managed to match the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and deliver great uplift over the older graphics cards tested.
