In the case of F1 2018 running atop Steam Play / DXVK, the performance improved by 17% over the past year with most of that boost coming out of the first Mesa release of the year. With Mesa 19.0-devel it's worth noting the minimum frame-rate is much higher than previous releases: 40 vs. 12 FPS.
When running F1 2018 with ultra high quality settings, Mesa 18.0 was actually the fastest by a few frames, but since then the performance has been relatively stable.
For Valve's Dota 2 game, the performance improved by 30% though most of that boost was between 17.3 and 18.2.
