The FFmpeg multimedia encoding performance really did not change much.
There also was not much to see when it came to the LAME MP3 encoding.
The LU.A performance with NASA's NAS Parallel Benchmark in Fortran had dropped on both systems between RHEL5.5 and RHEL6.0 putting it at around the same speed as Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS and Debian 6.0 while the openSUSE 11.3 performance was ahead.
It was difficult to draw any definitive conclusions out of NPB's UA.A test.
