Intel's Rewrite Of Linux MM CID Code Showing Some Nice Gains For AMD
Warming up the AMD EPYC Turin server with some HPC workloads, there were very minor differences to observe in some of the common high performance computing workloads. Very minor but did at least consistently side with the rseq/cid kernel build being the faster kernel.
For different real-world workloads tested on this AMD EPYC 9965 2P server, most common were very subtle performance changes.
With the Liquid-DSP digital signal processing library though some rather significant speed-ups were observed from the kernel build using the rseq/cid patches. Consistently across different threaded DSP test cases were some very sizable speed-ups with the rseq/cid kernel build.
In some other applications like Microsoft's Ethr there were some performance benefits observed.
