Xonotic with ultimate quality settings at 1920 x 1080 represents running a game that is more CPU bottlenecked, but for our GPU thermal readings and system power consumption still represents a valuable use-case.

The Sapphire Radeon R7 260X was running at a cool 40 Celisus on average while running this open-source first person shooter.

The Sapphire graphics card on the Kaveri system was burning through 137 Watts on average.

Xonotic is one of the more demanding open-source games that's popular but still not the most demanding OpenGL game. For this gaming use-case, the Radeon R7 260X offered a terrific performance-per-Watt that even exceeded the Radeon R9 260X. The Sapphire Radeon R7 260X performance-per-Watt surpassed the other AMD GPUs tested and was right behind NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 650 and GTX 760 graphics cards.
