These old x86_64 Elastic Metal instances continued to prove to be substantially faster than the RISC-V cloud server for a range of workloads, but again given the specs not entirely unexpected.
The EM-RV1 can be used for compiling different codebases if desired for RISC-V CI/CD exposure but the four sub-2GHz cores paired with eMMC storage make for lengthy build times.
The Ryzen 3000 series processors are approaching 5 years old and the Xeon E5 1410 v2 approaching 10 years old but still showing viability within the Elastic Metal cloud at Scaleway.
