The RVS01 was quite an interesting enclosure and is still happily used at Phoronix with a variety of test machines. The RVS02 design is different and comprised mostly of black plastic, but with carbon fiber styling. This enclosure supports SATA2/SATA3 2.5-inch disk drives up to 9.5mm in thickness. The enclosure is very lightweight, but sadly, it feels more flimsy than the original Raven storage device.

The dimensions on the SilverStone RVS02 are 128 x 75 x 19 mm with an empty weight of 62 grams. On the enclosure is a USB 3.0 connector while being backwards compatible with USB2.0/USB1.1. The +5V DC power needed by this disk enclosure is drawn off the USB port. The RVS02 does not require any tools for installation but simply slides apart.

SilverStone advertises this product as being compatible with Linux (along with Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows). While having Linux compatibility problems with external disk enclosures is very rare, it is rare to see a peripheral vendor actually advertise the Linux support, so it's nice to see SilverStone mark it on their products.
