Lenovo's T61 continued to lead when it came to LAME MP3 encoding. The Core 2 Duo T9300 is just 100MHz faster than the "medium-voltage Penryn" P8600, but it also has twice the amount of L2 cache (6MB total).
There was a slight lead again with the ThinkPad T61 when it came to the OpenSSL RSA 4096-bit performance. The ThinkPad T61 was able to produce 72 signs per second while the System76 had produced 70 signs in the same amount of time.
In our last test we have a glimpse at the Java performance between the two notebooks. The Sunflow Rendering System performance was within a tenth of a second apart when testing this global illumination with raytracing engine.
