Blender 5.1 was running faster on Ubuntu 26.04 with this System76 Thelio Mira desktop.

Some of the most significant performance gains going from Ubuntu 25.10 to Ubuntu 26.04 were found with Python. The upgrade from Python 3.13 to Python 3.14 brought a number of nice performance improvements when on Ubuntu 26.04.

Overall, Ubuntu 26.04 was running well and delivering some nice performance gains over the Ubuntu 25.10 release from October. Great seeing more performance still being squeezed out of the AMD Ryzen 9000 series under Linux. Look for more Ubuntu 26.04 benchmarks coming on Phoronix with the official release set for 23 April.
