AMD Ryzen AI Max "Strix Halo" Enjoys Great Performance Gains With Latest Linux Software

Starting off were some "simple" benchmarks with vkpeak for looking at the peak Vulkan compute performance with different data types. Some solid improvements from Ubuntu 25.04 now to Ubuntu 26.04, thanks to the work of AMD, Valve, Red Hat and other open-source contributors. Especially for fp16-vec4, int16-vec4, and int8 dot product were some especially notably improvements.
For VKMark as a "simple" Vulkan graphics benchmark, a respectable 14% improvement since the Framework Desktop launched last year. Not bad.
When firing up the Linux-native 3DMark Wild Life Extreme with Vulkan, the improvement was especially astounding. 1.6x the performance over the past year thanks to all the open-source AMD Linux software improvements!
