The computational results are mixed. Apple's preferred compiler stack is using their own Xcode package, which ships with LLVM/Clang and then (the GPLv2-licensed) GCC 4.2 as a fallback. Meanwhile, Ubuntu Linux upstream is shipping the latest GCC tool-chain.
