The ioquake3-based Tremulous game saw a nice boost in performance out of the current Ubuntu 12.10 packages.
Urban Terror and Warsow were two more multi-platform open-source games running faster on Ubuntu 12.10 in its current pre-beta state.
X-Plane 9 on Intel Sandy Bridge graphics is also an improvement on Ubuntu 12.10.
