Xonotic was also slower across the board with the newer graphics driver code of Mesa 10.5-devel + Linux 3.18, but at least it didn't regress as far as some other Linux OpenGL games were showing in this article.

If there's sufficient interest I'll reconduct this test with more graphics cards and also pulling in some older Ubuntu LTS point releases.
