The FS-Mark results were close, but in favor of eCryptfs without AES-NI support.

There was also not a real difference in the CPU usage.

Again, the eCryptfs-based home encryption on Ubuntu 11.10 was faster when the aesni-intel kernel module was not loaded.

No difference in the CPU usage either...
